Black Elk Speaks is Dana Rogers’ third
show with Hamilton Community Theatre,
those being Zap! and Jazz ABZ. He is a
graduate of the Professional Actor's
Program at Chattanooga State where he
learned techniques in stage movement,
voice, production, and improvisation. He
was Bo Bob Jasper in Cheatin' and Lord
Brockhurst in The Boyfriend. He is most
proud of his work with Becki Bradford
over the last ten years. Becki has been a
true mentor to Dana, and has challenged
him in dozens of roles like: Richard
Henry Lee in 1776, Motel in Fiddler on
the Roof, Enoch Snow in Carousel,
Rooster in Annie, the Duke in Big River,
Pawnee Bill in Annie Get Your Gun, Buzz
in Finnian's Rainbow, Pharaoh in Joseph
and the Amazing Technicolor
Dreamcoat. He would like to dedicate
his performance in Black Elk Speaks to
Becki. If not for her, he would not be
here to honor the memory of Hahaka
Sapa and the legacy of the Oglala Lakota.
Dana lives in East Brainerd with three
labs and the wily ferret Snakedog.
