Jamie Russell is a mixed-blood
Cherokee from Oklahoma, now residing
in Ooltewah. He plays guitar and flute
and writes all of his own music, which he
has available on several CD's. He is also
a craftsman, hand making indigenous
river cane flutes and many other Native
crafts.

Jamie was brought up in the Native ways
and those beliefs flow into the words
and music of his songs. They reflect how
as a modern day warrior, husband, and
father, he views life, nature, and
spirituality. These songs have touched
the hearts of many people and have
helped them strengthen their
relationships with their Creator, Mother
Earth, and each other. Through this, they
are able to see the sacredness of all Life.

Jamie has performed at the Tennessee
Aquarium's Native American Festival,
Cultural Festivals, Cherokee Days at Red
Clay Historic Park, on the powwow
circuit, at the Kentucky Dam State Park,
natural healing seminars, and private
parties, most recently performing and
taking part in the Cherokee celebration
"The Passage" on the waterfront at
Ross's Landing on the Tennessee River.
He also presents programs for school
groups from pre-K through college, at
churches and other religious
organizations. He is warmly received
wherever he has performed, for he
gives of his Native American heritage
"From the Heart."
